Lucid Absinthe Superieure

Lucid is an absinthe available for sale in the United States and is currently the only absinthe that can be sold legally. Produced in France for the Viridian Spirits Company of New York, it is made using traditional French methods. The recipe includes Grande Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), along with green anise, sweet fennel, and other herbs and was concocted by T.A. Breaux, an absinthe expert and historian. Lucid is currently available in certain cities in New York State and online.

Lucid was approved by the FDA for consumption in the United States after a change in the margin of error that allows a thujone containing product to be considered thujone-free if it contains less than 10mg/l

Kubler Absinthe Superieure

Kubler Absinthe Superieure is a well-known brand of absinthe, distilled in the Val-de-Travers region of Switzerland, also known as the birthplace of absinthe. Kubler Absinthe was first produced in 1863 and was the first brand to be sold legally in Switzerland after the national ban on absinthe was lifted in March, 2005. The legalization of absinthe in Switzerland is largely due to Kubler's lobbying efforts. The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau approved the formula for Kubler Absinthe in 2004, and approved the product for sale in the United States in May 2007 after three years of discussions among Kubler, FDA, TTB, and US Customs. These discussions between Kubler and federal agencies proved to be instrumental in opening the door for many brands of absinthe to be legally sold or produced in the United States.

Absente Absinthe

''We know what you're thinking. Absinthe has been banned in the U.S since the early 1900s because people were hallucinating or just because we were having way too much fun. Absente is a modern version of the original Absinthe recipe. It has the same aroma of the original green liqueur made from a combination of exotic botanicals. The only difference is they replaced Wormwood, the botanical that caused the initial ban, with a less bitter cousin called Southern-Wormwood.''
Absente can be enjoyed in many ways. You can either mix it with water, or the classic mixture of sugar and water using a slotted spoon.
